Navigating Rough Seas, limited edition, mounted print
Limited Edition, mounted print of original textile art. Navigating Rough Seas was created with rescued fabrics which were stitched using free motion embroidery.
A print was taken, mounted, signed and numbered as part of a limited edition of 50. It measures 32 x 32cm and is part of the Ocean series.
Living by the coast one can't help but be inspired by the sea. This is my interpretation of how powerful and dynamic the ocean can be.
The original was created using silk, taffeta, organza, net, velvet and lace. These were stitched with machine embroidery and hand sewn to depict rough seas. Finally I embellished the piece with beads to represent the spume and sea spray created by wild, crashing waves.
